NEW YORK TIMES & USA TODAY Bestselling Author Tina Folsom presents: Samson's Lovely Mortal (Scanguards Vampires #1)Vampire bachelor Samson can't get it up anymore. Not even his shrink can help him. That changes when the lovely mortal auditor Delilah tumbles into his arms after a seemingly random attack. Suddenly there's nothing wrong with his hydraulics - that is, as long as Delilah is the woman in his arms. His scruples about taking Delilah to bed vanish when his shrink suggests it's the only way to cure his problem. Thinking all he needs is one night with her, Samson indulges in a night of pleasure and passion. However, another attack on Delilah and a dead body later, and Samson has his hands full: not only with trying to hide the fact he's a vampire, but also with finding out what secrets Delilah harbors for somebody to want her harm."I'm addicted to Tina Folsom's books! You know you're not going to enjoy a book when the opening scene (pg 1, paragraph 1!) is a graphic description of a blow job, from a nameless female (no character development here - the poor thing is red lipstick on a blow up doll). This "vampire" story continues in much the same vein (pun intended). The plot is paper thin. Most characters aren't developed, and those that all are bog-standard - the vampires are essentially frat boys and city-boy types. Seriously, what is the point in peopling a novel with non-human types when they all act and think like normal humans? It renders the supernatural elements redundant. I really wish more authors would put some imagination and effort into their character building. What would being hundreds of years old do to your personality? Having to kill others just to survive? Having seen it all a million times before? All these things would leave a mark.... But nope. We just get city-boys and frat-boys, and a tacked-on white collar crime plot. This book just doesn't work for me as a supernatural romance, nor as a romantic suspense novel. The plot and characters are just too shallow, and the sex scenes too porny and boring.

Having read this book after reading the others in this series, I thought it would be a little boring. Really should not have worried, it is rightly a fitting first book in this series. Thoroughly enjoyed it and I am so pleased I got round to reading it.

I have every book in this series but this is still my favourite. I love the interplay between Samson and Delilah especially the funny moments.

Thoroughly enjoyable read. Good story, lots happening, kept your interest the whole time. First time that I have read this author & I would read other books in the series. Proper romance, with some vamp bits thrown in. Good read!

It's a great story of vampires and humans I've ever read. I brought all the books in the series before I finished reading chapter one of book one.
