Lily Ramsay is the sunshine at the center of the Ramsay clan. Even as a wee lassie, sick with a childhood illness, she had the power to spread smiles and laughter wherever she went. But when Lily’s beloved brother marries and becomes laird of the clan, Lily feels lost. Her once steadfast companion has little time for her, and his new wife has assumed the duties she used to carry out for the clan. While she couldn’t be happier for her loved ones, she longs for something more for herself. In truth, she longs for her brother’s best friend—the braw warrior she’s loved all her life.Kyle Maule has made it his mission to do aught he can to honor his sire’s legacy. His appointment as the new Ramsay laird’s second is a dream come true, but Lily Ramsay’s beauty and irrepressible spirit threaten to make Kyle forget himself and fumble on the job. Desperate to do his duty to his laird and his fallen sire, Kyle tries to quell his feelings for Lily—to protect her without succumbing to the desire to be with her. But Lily is not the sort of lass to be held at arm’s length. When an unexpected threat befalls her, Kyle will have to decide to either let her in all the way or step away from her forever.

At first I was thoroughly bored with Lily and her made up problems. She just struck me as willful and careless and grossly irresponsible. Kyle behaved like an inconsistent tongue-tied bore too but then they went to Edinburgh and things improved massively from there. Ms Montclair made more of an effort to explain Lily and her idiosyncrasies, Kyle stopped denying the undeniable but for me, the thing that made the whole book worth it was the wolves. Wish that particular idiosyncrasy got played up even more. The preview of Jake sounds great though, so I'm off to get it!

Brilliant story. I agree with other reviewers that Lily seems a bit child like, or maybe even autistic. Everyone loves her, all the clan members even animals, wild or domesticated, but I think that is what makes her so charming. She is adorable, and has at last found her place and her love. When you recall all that she has been through in her life, from earlier books, it is 'just' that she finds happiness. I loved catching up with other members of the clan and look forward to reading Jake's story, and who is the battered lass he found in the woods? Another great read from Ms Montclair.

I have normally loved reading Keira Montclair books, but this book for me was hard going. I found the main character Lily so immature and child like it did not seem that she was ready for marriage with her child like gestures and actions. so disappointing that's why I give this book only two stars.

I have loved all the books in this series, but I think the author lost her way with this one. I know she was trying to portray Lily as a well loved member of the clan who brightened the day of all around her, but actually Lily came across as having a mental age of five years rather than her actual twenty years. I actually found her behaviour quite disturbing ,and the fact that a warrior such as Kyle was attracted to her in anyway other than a brotherly way was unbelievable. Hopefully the next book will be back on track.

I was disappointed with this book, as I have thoroughly enjoy all the other books in the Clan series, and the character development of each person.. Lily character I felt was a little bit simple and uninspiring. I actually felt sorry for Kyle and the dynamics and story line was weak,I have read and loved all of Kiera other books

Another wonderful read from Keira Montclair,Lily, the Highland Clan book 3, just as good as the other 2 Highland Clan books. I can't wait for the next instalment, of the Ramsey's, and the Grants.

Really disappointed very weak story line nothing like earlier books. No comparison to the Logan and Gwyneth story. Won't bother with any more.

I was a lovely read. Loved every bit of the book, the detail in the story made you felt that you were there with them
